We created The Freedom Track to give you a running start in your faith (if you're new to this), jump-start your journey (if you feel stalled-out or stuck), and give you an on-ramp to understand who we are, what we do, and why & how we do it...
Radical grace connects the Father to us- us to each other... and us to the world. Grace reconciles, restores, and rebuilds things that are broken!
Grace moves us beyond guilt and shame... past sin, over addictions & bondages & bad habits... and transforms us into the people we were created to be, image bearers of God!
The origin of our message is Jesus... the one Who empowers it is Jesus... the One who promises to complete it is Jesus!
Freedom Track runs during our 9am service, so drop your children at Kidz Alive by following the large signs in The Connection, our big lobby. Then, grab a cup of coffee, relax, and enjoy...
We teach lesson 1 of 4 on the first Sunday of the month, lesson 2 on the second Sunday... No need to wait until the beginning of the month- just jump in!
In just 4 lessons, you'll learn the following...
Our world identifies people based on where they've been, what they've done, and even the labels placed on them. We grade people on past performance. Present performance, even.
Scripture, though, values us based on what Jesus has done on our behalf. We've been made completely new. Now, we live as sons & daughters of a gracious Father.
Knowing your true identity empowers you to live as the person you were designed to be.
In our Father's Kingdom, the values are different. Not only does He view people differently than the world in which we live, He sees other things differently, too.
So, our relationship to time & money changes. And, our view of the poor and needy changes. As we experience more & more of His grace, it's natural that His love overflows to those around us.
In this lesson we discuss what Jesus meant when He said things like, “The first is last…” and “The leader is here to serve others.”
The amazing thing is that the value system of the Kingdom brings the greatest freedom of all!
Jesus doesn’t call us to “do life” alone. In fact, one of the great truths of the Scripture is that He takes the lonely and sets them in families (Psalm 98:6).
In the New Testament, we read that the church is likened to a body- the Body of Christ. We are, literally, His hands and feet in the world.
Yes, we’re all parts of that body. Yet body parts don’t really make sense- and function- apart from the body as a whole. In a real sense, we need each other.
Oddly enough, the more broken we are, the more qualified we are to be part of the body. It’s when we’re connected that our brokenness is covered. You see, we’re all weak in certain areas- and strong in other ones. Our strengths enhance others’ weaknesses, and their strengths cover ours!
It’s in the context of living in community that our true gifts and abilities come to the surface.
Yet these aren’t mere “talents” that we have; we were created by God with a unique design- each of us!
The Holy Spirit also gives us different abilities- unique ways in which God works through us in (get this!) a supernatural way. In the same way that each of our fingerprints are different, the truth is that our entire design is different.
You'll discover the ways in which you are unique- the ways in which God expresses Himself through you to bless the world in which you live!
By the way, not only do we have unique abilities, but we also have a unique destiny- a mark we're all created to make. The same gifts can be used in numerous ways. When we discuss purpose, you'll begin narrowing the focus of how the Father designed you with unique gifts that He can use with your particular past to spread grace and redemption to others!
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to fill us- and to empower us to live as His ambassadors on earth. He said the Holy Spirit is, literally, His presence in us... and that the Spirit helps us remember the things He taught, gifts us the ability to do the things He did while He was on earth, and allows us to experience the Father's nearness.
As new creations, our Father moves us away from the old habits and hang-ups... from addictions and anger... from the things that have kept us from being everything He created us to be...
Our spirits are one with His...
He transforms us from the "inside-out," filling our minds, emotions, and even our bodies with grace & goodness.
And, He empowers us to walk with the same power Jesus used!
One thing we’ve come to see- and feel- is this: Jesus reached out to those who most needed His help. This was true in a spiritual sense (it made the Pharisees angry that He was most often found with “tax collectors” and “sinners”). And, this was true in a practical sense.
Jesus said His followers would be known as those who visited people in prison, extended their hands to the poor and needy, and met practical needs. This would happen not as a duty, but as an overflow of the heart.
His little brother, James, picked up the memo. He tells us not to prefer the rich, but to look out for those who are in need. And, He tells us that it does no good if we give them a “great word of encouragement” but send them away without food or clothing.
Jesus is the beginning... the focal point... and the goal of a story that is still being written. Everything we do as a church- and as individuals- is about Jesus, and about making Him known.
And, we not only want others to know of Him, but we want them to experience the radical grace He's given. We want them to see how successful His work on the Cross was- and how He continues bringing total restoration and reconciliation today!
Well, one of our staff pastors says it best in this 60-second video! Consider this YOUR PERSONAL INVITE!
And, yes, it's a really clever way to remember everything you're learning!
God's not angry at you- or waiting to punish you. God is 100% FOR YOU. The Bible teaches us that nothing can separate you from His love... and, though sin and bad choices usually take us longer & farther than we anticipated, His grace is always there ready for TOTAL RESTORATION and the reconciliation of ALL THINGS!
No tricks or gimmicks. We'll show you everything in black and white. We'll give you the printed Freedom Track curriculum during class- or you can download it online. We encourage you to study it with an open Bible, though, so you can see exactly where it all comes from. You'll find out that people often make the Scripture way more complicated than Jesus intended things to be.
Some of us are further along in our journey- some of us just began. But, we all have the same Father, the same Spirit... and the same Jesus has rescued us, putting us on the same mission. We believe that's enough to unify us. And, we feel that we're all better together!
There's something amazing and unique about you. You've been created to carry- and deliver- something to the world that no one has in quite the same way.
We'll help you uncover the unique destiny God has for you by discovering the unique design with which He made you! This is the best part of The Freedom Track- not just encountering your Creator, not just walking on firm truth, not just walking with others... but knowing the reason He uniquely crafted you!
Nobody teaches about discovering WHO YOU REALLY ARE better than Pastor Kent! In lesson that 20 minutes, you'll receive a radical dose of grace!
